Change Log

Core 0 beta Feb.15.1.2025 -> Core 0 stable Feb.15.2.2025

- First STABLE SWMC release ever shipped. Core 0 graduates from beta after 2.5 months of field testing.
- New: ams_detour SteinSwitch. Routes the toolhead through the wiper area on AMS calls for automatic pre-AMS wipes.
- Fan cover alarm flipped to ON by default. If your fan cover falls off mid-print, the printer now pauses instead of continuing silently.
- Template Custom G-code upgraded from 41 to 65 lines. New G2/G3 arc moves replace straight-line scrubbing for smoother, quieter wipe cycles. Get-off-part spiral lift at wipe entry.
- Slicing error in BBS 1.10.2 / 2.0 corrected (extrusion outside build plate).
- Nozzle too hot on smooth plate burning PA test line fixed.
- Fan cover detachment no longer allows silent print continuation.
- Layer counter display lag corrected.
- Motor slip after print when initiating manual filament change addressed.
- Return-to-print slicer bug that could send toolhead outside build volume patched.
- Long delay before AMS filament cutting fixed (was waiting on temps too conservatively).
- AMS return-to-print temp gradient added; temps now fall fast enough to prevent overshoot on first extrusion after cut.
- Indentation and formatting pass across all files for consistency inside conditional blocks.

Notes

This is the first STABLE release of SteinWipe Motion Control. Core 0 has been in production since February 2025 and graduates here after a long beta testing cycle. Every bug that was going to surface has surfaced; every feature is proven.

Core 0 uses inline SteinSwitch toggles that you enable or disable by editing the gcode directly. Configuration happens by finding a numbered SteinSwitch block in the gcode and changing {if true} to {if false} or vice versa. This is different from the newer Core 1 release, which uses keyword-based configuration through printer notes.

If you want the most conservative, most tested SWMC, stay on Core 0 stable. If you want the newer SSD configuration layer and the expanded feature set, see the Apr.28.1.2025 Core 1 release instead. Both are in active production.

Full user manual is linked in the Resources section above. The manual covers every SteinSwitch in this release with searchable gcode fingerprints for find-in-file navigation.

If you're upgrading from Feb.15.1.2025 beta, update with confidence; all the user-reported bugs from the beta cycle are addressed here.
