SWMCL Chute Tapping Preset for Bambu Lab P1 Series & X1C (May.17.2026 Core Family)

Current coverage: BBS P1 Series, BBS X1C (Orca P1/X1C coming)

P1 Series and X1C SWMCL Chute Tapping is an automation that adds a purge clearance routine which keeps the chute clear of purge during ams cycles while printing. The toolhead rapidly moves into and out of the chute area at controlled acceleration, using physical motion to engage the chute flap knocking loose any purge stuck to the chute wall when the print starts and during AMS cycles. Three intensity levels via SteinSwitch Definitions (SSD) gives you control over how aggressive the knockdown is; use chute_tapping_soft for everyday PLA use, chute_tapping_med for heavier PETG buildup, and chute_tapping_hard when soft and medium aren't enough.

The X1C also gets two additional SSD features; use_purge_work_light turns on the toolhead work light during purging and chute tapping cycles so the chamber webcam view the purge chute - useful for verifying the feature is doing its job. dark_mode suppresses the toolhead logo light, ideal for overnight prints or shared sleeping spaces.

The May.17.2026 Chute Tapping core is the second SWMCL release, following the Apr.1.2025 Pause Preset. Both use the same SteinSwitch Definition (SSD) architecture that ships across the full SWMC codebase in Core 1. Everything is configured by dropping keywords into your slicer's printer notes field; no gcode editing required, no touching your existing gcode.

This listing is for users who want to use the stock BBL Gcode but adopt SWMC chute clog prevention without committing to a full SWMC machine preset. If you already run SWMC Core 1 on your printer, you don't need this; Core 1 includes chute tapping with the same three intensity levels. If you bought Core 0 (Feb.15.2025) specifically for chute tapping, this is a sensible upgrade; you get SSD-based intensity control over the feature without moving your full preset to Core 1.

Each release ships as a .3mf file that imports directly into the slicer as a new printer preset. Takes about two minutes to install. Full user manual is available on each release preview page (click release buttons below), targeted to your specific printer and slicer combination.

No SteinWipe wiper hardware required; this is a pure software mod. Works on any Bambu Lab P1P, P1S, or X1C running a supported slicer.

All releases in this listing are also included in Dev Pack 2025 and Dev Pack Pro 2026. If you want access to every SWMC release across all printers and all cores, the Dev Packs are the most cost-effective path. If you only need the SWMCL Chute Tapping Preset, this standalone listing is the right fit.
