High-Temperature Thermal Control Tab

The ProTab for SteinWipe Pro gives your nozzle a controlled place to park and cool after purging which is accessible at any time during a print, not just at startup.

SteinWipe Pro was engineered around this tab. When used with SteinWipe Motion Control Pro (SWMC Pro), it enables higher-temperature flush cycles followed by faster, controlled cooldown. This reduces purge waste, minimizes ooze, and improves print quality by preventing blobs, printing at incorrect temperatures after material changes, gaps in layers, and air introduced into the nozzle by an unmanaged nozzle tip.

With SWMC Pro and ProTab working together, print startup becomes significantly faster and more reliable compared to stock nozzle handling routines.

What Does The Control Tab Do with SteinWipe Motion Control Pro (SWMC Pro)

  • Tab ridges provides a surface for controlled nozzle scraping (no more nozzle scraping the back of the build plate, better for cool plates)

  • Allows high-temperature purging for cleaner material flushing

  • Pulls heat from the nozzle tip through direct contact to stop ooze

  • Works with the part cooling fan for accelerated nozzle cooldown

  • SWMC Pro actively manages ProTab temperature, allowing the mount to be safely printed in PETG

  • Prevents end-of-print string formation on the nozzle

  • Helps control ooze during nozzle heating/cooling for filament swaps

  • Controls ooze during X1 Pressure Advance calibration scans

  • Non-stick, self-cleaning spring action design knocks debris away

NOTES:

  • A single tab per machine is required to be installed to the SteinWipe Pro’s wiper mount. A second tab to be installed in place of the stock wiper in the chute is optional - secondary tab is needed to use the new “Sidestepping” purge pinch and cut routine.

  • ProTab mount does not block access to the carbon filter door.

It is safe to print regular models using the Handy app and stock Bambu Lab printer profiles with SteinWipe Pro installed
