Released: May 26, 2026
SteinWipe Hole Template V3 and Rear Backing Plate V2
Change Log
Hole Template V3 - Released May 26 2026
- New: Three-hole locating template modified design for cleaner chip evacuation and easier alignment while drilling in place
- New: Predrill-the-template-first workflow documented as the official method
- New: Maximum drill assembly length spec (250mm tip-to-back) ensures square holes through the rear panel
- Updated: Drilling sequence now starts at 1/16 inch pilot, opens to 1/8 inch, optional 1/4 inch hand deburr
- Updated: Compatible with all three current wiper mount versions (V1 original, V2 Pro Standard, V3 Pro Advanced)
Rear Backing Plate V2 - Released May 26 2026
- Changed: Nut pockets are now blind (no through holes); M3 nuts embed into the print at a layer pause already inserted in the .3mf
- Improved: Stronger backing plate; bridging over the nut while maintaining a through hole was not reliably printable
- Improved: Less post-print cleanup; no support material or bridging artifacts to clear out
- Changed: Screw lengths are now strictly defined. Two M3 x 6mm for the wiper mount, one M3 x 5mm for the backing plate. Longer screws will bottom out against the embedded nuts.

- Jan.22.1.2025 hardware release added the V2 refinement to all four legacy SteinWipe listings
- Apr 10 2025 added a Bambu Handy print profile for the template (MakerWorld)
- This release supersedes all previous template and backing plate files
Notes
The shared install foundation for every SteinWipe wiper mount. One drill job covers all three compatible wiper mount versions. The V3 template prints with smaller holes to drill in place and pairs with the updated V2 backing plate where M3 nuts now embed more cleanly into the print at a paused layer. No through holes to clean up. Two M3 x 6mm screws hold the wiper mount in place. One M3 x 5mm screw holds the backing plate.
